I try making a shopping bag with the fabric I died with indigo + katazome. It was a try out for making a “product” for Christmas market that the Elisabeet people are preparing. It is to raise some money for the next year’s activity at the garden.
It was a lot of work to make this… especially the dye process. The cotton fabric has to be scored completely, and it also adds extra work… Then I asked myself, “how much one would pay for this object?”.
I imagine we can sell such things for 10-15 Euro… maybe.. It will not pay off hours of work that goes into making this. It is crazy to think how these production labor and price of things does not match anymore.
