Circular Blue project is not directly my artistic work. It is my response to the call the VOICE community made, and an actualization of my interest in creating home grown color and sustainable textile practice in my neighborhood with others.
But of course, engaging in this activity and with others informs me to my own artistic practice. The last 3 weeks, from the beginning of June, I have been working with Dominique Savitri Bonarjee on the performance project Scores of Unknowing. Within our artistic practice, the process of working with indigo became a big inspiration. And through the artistic practice to explore more abstractly the relationship with “more than human” and unknown also informs me to think of how I work practically at the field and develop color with others.
