Finally I got a blue fabric from Elisabeet vat!
The vat 1, after taking out the slimy layer (I took out maybe 5cm amount of liquid from the top), and I dipped the fabric 15cm deep from the surface, it gave color! It is still not very deep blue, rather turquoise blue almost like fresh leaves dye… but it is a clear reduced indigo vat dye!
This was on Thursday afternoon and I was at the Hütte alone. When I got the blue, I had to run to the vegetable garden and show it to the people who were working there. I got a nice congratulate from the team. Catarina took picture of the fabric and immediately shared with the garden group via signal. Thanks Catarina!
I was starting to feel a bit stressed that it is almost end of the August and the vat is still not working. I feel good that finally the vat is reduced and giving color.
