Shibori Experiments

I made a series of Shibori experimens prior to the shibori workshop.

experiment 1: Itashime with folds: Half/half/triangle, 8 division folds. I am sure this can make more interesting pattern, but as I held the Ita, right angle to the outer edge, it became a simple square shape, which was not my intention… It was dipped 6 times, 3min each, with opening up the fold in the oxidation periods.

Classic Shibori with cotton threads. 6dips, 3min each.

Sekka (snow flower) shibori. Folding fabric in triangular shape (divided by 6) and applying Itashime shibori. 6 dips 3min each. I also tried 2 different types of cotton and thin guaze type cotton fabric from Naturestoffe Lindeman turned out really good. Sekka shibori has a lot of folds, and thin fabric gives better even dye results.
