Indigofera Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> (true indigo) is a species of plant from the bean family. It is cultivated in India and southeast Asia to extract Indigo. The native range of this species is tropical West Africa,South Africa and the Indian subcontinent to Mainland Southeast Asia and it requires a tropical climate. It contains the most indigo among all the indigo containing plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigofera suffruticosa<\/a><\/strong> (Guatemalan indigo, anil)  is a flowering plant in the pea family, Fabaceae. Anil is native to the subtropical and tropical Americas. It is an erect branching shrub growing to 1m tall with pinnate leaves, and is commonly found growing in dry, highly disturbed areas such as roadsides and fallow fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strobilanthes Cusia<\/a><\/strong> is a perennial flowering plant of the family Acanthaceae. Native to South Asia, China, and Indochina, it was historically cultivated on a large scale in India and China as a source of indigo dye. It requires a tropical moist climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isatis Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> (woad, f\u00e4rberweid, pastel) is a flowering Biennial plant in the family Brassicaceae, native to South-Eastern and Central Europe and it has been cultivated widely for the use as a blue dye source. However the concentration of indigo in the plant is significantly lower than the other species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Persicaria Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> ( Chinese indigo, Japanese Indigo, Tade Ai, dyer’s knotweed, F\u00e4rber Kn\u00f6terich)  is a species of flowering plant in the buckwheat family. Annual plant. It is native to Eastern Europe and Asia. Colour is extracted through water extraction or by composting leaves called “Sukumo”. It does not contain indigo as much as Indigofera, but it contains more than Isatis. Suitable for a temperate climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circular Blue project plans to grow both the Persicaria Tinctoria<\/strong> and Isatis Tinctoria<\/strong> at the Elisabeet. Both of the plants suits well with the Berlin temperate climate region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigofera Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> (true indigo) ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Bohnengew\u00e4chse. Sie wird in Indien und S\u00fcdostasien zur Indigogewinnung angebaut. Ihr Verbreitungsgebiet erstreckt sich vom tropischen Westafrika, S\u00fcdafrika und dem indischen Subkontinent bis hin zum s\u00fcdostasiatischen Festland und erfordert tropisches Klima. Von allen indigohaltigen Pflanzen ist sie die indigoreichste Pflanze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anil ist in den subtropischen und tropischen Regionen des amerikanischen Kontinents heimisch. Es ist ein aufrecht stehender, verzweigter Strauch mit gefiederten Bl\u00e4ttern, der bis zu 1\u00a0m hoch wird und h\u00e4ufig in trockenen, stark gest\u00f6rten Gebieten wie Stra\u00dfenr\u00e4ndern und Brachfeldern w\u00e4chst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isatis Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> (woad, f\u00e4rberweid, pastel) ist eine zweij\u00e4hrige Pflanze aus der Familie der Kreuzbl\u00fctler (Brassicaceae), die in S\u00fcdost- und Mitteleuropa beheimatet ist und als blauer Farbstoff weit verbreitet angebaut wird. Der Indigogehalt der Pflanze ist jedoch deutlich geringer als bei anderen Arten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Persicaria Tinctoria<\/a><\/strong> ( Chinese indigo, Japanese Indigo, Tade Ai, dyer's knotweed, F\u00e4rber Kn\u00f6terich)\u00a0ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Kn\u00f6terichgew\u00e4chse. Einj\u00e4hrige Pflanze. Heimisch in Osteuropa und Asien. Die Farbe wird durch Wasserextraktion oder durch Kompostierung der Bl\u00e4tter, genannt \u201eSukumo\u201c, gewonnen. Der Indigogehalt ist nicht so hoch wie bei Indigofera, aber h\u00f6her als bei Isatis. Geeignet f\u00fcr gem\u00e4\u00dfigtes Klima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Projekt Circular Blue plant, sowohl Persicaria Tinctoria<\/strong> als auch Isatis Tinctoria<\/strong> im Elisabeet anzubauen. Beide Pflanzen eignen sich gut f\u00fcr die gem\u00e4\u00dfigte Klimaregion Berlins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
