At the dye plants garden, we have now many different dye plants. Tagetes\/marigold is finally blooming a lot and they will give intense orange\/yellow color. Dyers cosmos has been blooming since mid-August, almost everyday constantly. They give nice orange color. I have harvested so many of the cosmos. Sch\u00f6ne Auge (I do not know English name) also give orange-sh yellow. It is giving a lot of flower but I am failing to harvest many of them. And Dyers camomile (the one of the top left photo, a bit blur) is a beautiful yellow flower, also smells nice like camomile, gives a very nice neon yellow color. Camomile here are planted this year and it is not giving a lot of flower now. This is 2 year plants, and it gives much more flower on the second year. When I see a flower from them, I collect them, but I do not have so much until now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also planted some woad\/F\u00e4rberweid. This is the indigo plant of Europe, and you can feel that it is the native plant. I almost forgot that it is here, not much taking care… and it is growing very well (photo on the bottom middle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And of course we have the Persicaria Tinctoria. It is also called F\u00e4rberkn\u00f6terich in German and it is a family of kn\u00f6terich. Although it is not native here, kn\u00f6terich grows in Germany and it seems to fit the climate well. We did water sometime when it was dry, but I relatively left it as it is. This summer was rather cool, rainy summer and the plant is growing very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also some tomatos and topinambu in the dye garden. Tomato was unexpected guest, probably seeds were in the soil. Topinambu was planted on top of the H\u00fcgelbeet after Madlen saw some foot prints on top of the hill. They both seems to be doing well at the garden.
