Location: Elisabeet F\u00e4rbeH\u00fctte<\/strong> ( Friedhof St. Elisabeth II, Wollankstr. 66, 13359 Berlin )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our jeans are made of woven fabric, traditionally cotton thread dyed with indigo woven with the Twill weave pattern. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of weaving techniques and weaving patterns and “hands-on” weave with a 8 shaft table loom brought by the workshop leader. At the F\u00e4rbeH\u00fctte, we dyed various shades of blue cotton threads this summer using the fermentation indigo vat. In the workshop, using these blue indigo threads, we intend to weave our own “jeans” fabric. Of course, in two hours, we will not manage to hand weave amount of fabric necessary to make a jeans…. but you will get to weave a tiny bit of a “jeans” fabric made by yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intention of the workshop is to gain the understandings of how the textiles are made, and to think about how the textiles we wear everyday could be made alternatively in more sustainable, environmentally friendly ways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma will bring her four x table loom for the workshop. We arrange 2 time slots for the workshop, each slots accommodating 4 participants. In total we have 8 participants spaces available for this workshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop is planned to take place at the Elisabeet F\u00e4rbeH\u00fctte, at the garden outside. We hope for a nice autumn weather. Please wear warm so you can stay 2 hours outside. we will prepare hot tea to warm ourselves up as well;) In case of bad weather, we will inform an alternative location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her work ranges focuses on research and experimental material development, specialising in the intersection of heritage weaving techniques, technology and textile engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma also teaches weaving workshops to future weavers in Berlin, and is the co-founder of the Berlin Kreativ Kollektiv e.V.<\/a>, a non-profit association dedicated to supporting independent creative businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsere Jeans bestehen aus gewebtem Stoff, traditionell mit Indigo gef\u00e4rbtem Baumwollgarn in K\u00f6perbindung. In diesem Workshop lernen Sie die Grundlagen der Webtechniken und Webmuster sowie das praktische Weben mit einem 8-Schaft-Tischwebstuhl, den die Workshopleiterin mitgebracht hat. In der F\u00e4rbeH\u00fctte haben wir diesen Sommer Baumwollgarn in verschiedenen Blaut\u00f6nen im Fermentations-Indigo-Kanister gef\u00e4rbt. Im Workshop m\u00f6chten wir mit diesen blauen Indigof\u00e4den unseren eigenen Jeansstoff weben. Nat\u00fcrlich werden wir in zwei Stunden nicht die n\u00f6tige Stoffmenge f\u00fcr eine Jeans weben k\u00f6nnen \u2026 aber Sie werden ein kleines St\u00fcck selbst hergestellten Jeansstoff weben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ziel des Workshops ist es, ein Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr die Herstellung von Textilien zu entwickeln und dar\u00fcber nachzudenken, wie die Textilien, die wir t\u00e4glich tragen, alternativ nachhaltiger und umweltfreundlicher hergestellt werden k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma wiEmma bringt ihren 4er Tischwebstuhl zum Workshop mit. Wir haben zwei Zeitfenster f\u00fcr den Workshop eingerichtet, die jeweils 4 Teilnehmer aufnehmen. Insgesamt stehen f\u00fcr diesen Workshop 8 Teilnehmerpl\u00e4tze zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir bereiten auch hei\u00dfen Tee zum Aufw\u00e4rmen vor. ;) Bei schlechtem Wetter informieren wir euch \u00fcber einen alternativen Ort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
