On May 9<\/strong> 14:00<\/strong>– at the Elisabeet, we will have our first online workshop with Melanie Mano from Ainisomatte<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She will explain how she works with the cycle of Indigo, from seeds to plants to color to soil. We can learn how she works with Persicaria Tinctoria plants over the seasons and get an overview of how our workflow would looks like. She will give us an short lecture of 30-45min via online from Japan. She will be talking in English. After her lecture, we will work on the field to prepare the soil for Persicaria Tinctoria and other natural dye plants. We will transfer some of the natural dye plants this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the workshop leader<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melanie Mano<\/strong> is an indigo farmer and dyer based in Misakicho, Okayama, Japan. After living in Japan for many years, she encountered indigo and shibori dyeing and slowly her life has been turning blue! Her dyeing studio, ainisomatte<\/a> is a place to explore shibori and her dyeing process: from Persicaria Tinctoria seeds to fermentation vats using the composted leaves (sukumo) from her indigo farm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Am 9. Mai <\/strong>um 14:00<\/strong> Uhr findet im Elisabeet unser erster Online-Workshop mit Melanie Mano from Ainisomatte<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sie erkl\u00e4rt, wie sie mit dem Kreislauf des Indigos arbeitet \u2013 vom Samen \u00fcber die Pflanze und die Farbe bis hin zum Boden. Wir erfahren, wie sie im Laufe der Jahreszeiten mit Persicaria Tinctoria-Pflanzen arbeitet und erhalten einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber unseren Arbeitsablauf. Sie h\u00e4lt einen kurzen, 30- bis 45-min\u00fctigen Online-Vortrag aus Japan. Sie spricht auf Englisch. Im Anschluss daran bereiten wir den Boden auf dem Feld f\u00fcr Persicaria Tinctoria und andere nat\u00fcrliche F\u00e4rbepflanzen vor. Einige der nat\u00fcrlichen F\u00e4rbepflanzen werden wir diese Woche umpflanzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00dcber den Workshopleiter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melanie Mano<\/strong> ist Indigob\u00e4uerin und -f\u00e4rberin aus Misakicho, Okayama, Japan. Nach vielen Jahren in Japan entdeckte sie Indigo und Shibori-F\u00e4rbung und begann, ihr Leben langsam blau zu gestalten! In ihrem F\u00e4rbestudio Ainisomatte<\/a> entdeckt sie Shibori und ihren F\u00e4rbeprozess: von den Samen der Kn\u00f6terichpflanze bis hin zu Fermentationsbottichen mit den kompostierten Bl\u00e4ttern (Sukumo) ihrer Indigofarm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
