The project is a part of Festival der Regionen 2023, which topic is Höchste Eisenbahn and takes place along the Summerauerbahn. Every time I visit Zeugfärberei, I take the S3 Summerauerbahn train from Linz to Pregarten. Taking a long train ride from Berlin, the last stretch of this regional train became my little ritual.
It starts from Linz, pass industrial area, and crosses Donau river.
Then it starts to enter countryside. I have been taking this route few times since the beginning of April. It is nice to see the change of seasons.
Some of the S3 is a new style train, but some are old school train that goes all the way to Czech. I find these textile pattern on the old train seat fascinating. Maybe not the most “beautiful” pattern, but it hides all the dirt and wear and tear… very practical.
