Throughout the indigo dye process, one needs a lot of ironing. The fabric needs to be washed and ironed before printing papp. Otherwise wrinkle prevents a good print and also wrinkles leave marks on dyed fabric. After dying and washing, the fabric comes out wrinkly again and it needs to be ironed to have a good finish look.
I am not a big fan of ironing in general, and it would have been a nightmare if I had to do all the ironing myself. Ulli and Betina helped us to do all the ironing in exchange of hours. It was magic to see all these indigo fabric straightened up and hanging in order.
