This week at the Kit of No parts Workshop I opened up first of all a Sliding switch. It is a very simple mechanism, but still includes many details to think about. It is a three leg pieces that consists of a sliding conductive bridge that always makes contact with Ground (center leg), but depends where you slide it, it closes the circuit to the right leg, or to the left leg. What I found interesting is that it includes a small Spring, which gives pressure to the Bridge making the contact between the surfaces more secure.

The second part that I opened up was a Speaker from headphones. And that I found fascinating! The whole mechanism of a speaker is really simple, but it makes it all very interesting. The fact that all the sound comes from a vibrating little plastic membrane is amazing. That´s why I decided to experiment now with Speakers.
